Glitterbug and I returned to Bombay this December for performances, screenings and discussions hosted by the Mumbai Goethe Institute and co-organized by the great folks at The Bombay Elektrik Project. It’s never easy for us as artists when performing in places such as India. We have to confront ourselves with a lot of questions not only in respect to the immense poverty but in our own respect, the work and impact of our art, our own privileges of being and working as artists, and the wider significance of art production in social perspectives. Our 2009 visit sparked emotions and concepts that went directly into Glitterbug’s Privilege album and although many of these concerns will remain perpetually unanswered our amazing hosts certainly gave great meaning to our stay.
